Mechanical designers help create mechanical products and the components necessary for their assembly or fabrication. They work in research and development or quality control for many different types of organizations, collecting data, conducting experiments, working with computer-aided design and drafting equipment and building the prototypes that lead to final products. Students can look forward to a career with a wide variety of responsibilities waiting for them.
